Role Summary

The Operations Manager leads Production at the DFW site to achieve targets for Production, Quality, and Cost whilst ensuring EHS standards are world class.

You will also develop and execute Continuous Improvement ideas and projects for manufacturing operations. Lead, coach, and develop the Operations team to enable operational excellence and growth opportunities at the site.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage Manufacturing Operations team Direct Reports inc. Production Supervisors, Process Engineers, and hourly employees.
  • Establish and maintain safe systems of work across plant production.
  • Lead day-to-day operations through the safe and timely execution of monthly manufacturing targets.
  • Lead day-to-day operations (inc. SAP), administrations, audits, safety observations/issues, maintenance issues, CAPEX projects, process improvements, training, SOP updates, etc.
  • Develop department budgets and KPIs in accordance with corporate needs, and keep track to ensure remaining on target.
  • Set strategic priorities for Operations with Plant Manager corporate leadership.
  • Develop problem solving culture looking to establish root causes for issues.
  • Generate ideas and projects to improve process, rate, yields and quality etc through lean manufacturing and six sigma. Encourage others in production to do the same.
  • Responsible for manufacturing employee development through growth, performance feedback, communication, involvement, skills training, delegation, decision-making and coaching.
  • Work with Quality Department to ensure customer expectations are me, and any issues reviewed and resolved.
  • Participate and represent the plant on appropriate business teams.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems.
  • Conform with the corporate QHSSE policies and awareness of quality management system requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing safety/environmental performance targets, ensuring proficiency with EH&S procedures and requirements, ensuring funds for EHS improvement projects are planned and acquired in adherence to local, state and federal regulations

Role Requirements

  • Degree qualified, Chemical Engineering heavily preferred
  • Minium of 5 years chemical/refining experience, ideally 10+
  • Minium of 3 years supervisory experience, ideally 5+
  • Strong technical, inter-personnel, and strategic thinking skills
  • SAP experience is a plus
