Process Control Manager - Refinery - Louisiana

A Fortune 100 O&G business is searching for a Process Control Manager for their refinery in SW Louisiana.

You will be responsible for oversight of the Process Control Area within the Automation Department; responsible for selection, installation, application, and utilization of process control/optimization applications in the operating processes, and developing, implementing, and maintaining target performance for Advanced Process Control applications.

You work will include developing and executing plans to improve existing applications and implementing new APC, implementing long-term support strategies for the Alarm Management and Human Machine Interface Programs, and ensuring development and implementation of capital and non-capital APC improvements and applications that will improve safety, profitability, or quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Process Control organization to ensure efficient execution of all Process Control activities
  • Develops and implements basic and advanced process control and optimization strategies/programs
  • Implements long-term support strategies for Alarm Management and HMI programs
  • Designs and performs validation studies
  • Initiates programs and services to obtain solutions to issues in process control
  • Works on the development of the MTP and annual budgets for the Process Control department; monitor expenditure and budget throughout the year to ensure compliance
  • Establish and maintain KPIs for process control performance and impacts on refinery economics
  • Provides mentoring and assistance in technical matters to engineers and technicians
  • Develops training plans and strategies to improve overall knowledge of the APC engineers
  • Reviews and evaluates performance for departmental employees
  • Challenges employees to seek self-improvement through training and individual developmental programs

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical preferred)
  • 10 years of Automation Engineering experience
  • Process Control / DCS control system configuration experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Project execution and management experience
  • Multi-Variable Controller programming experience
