Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for safety excellence aligned with our overall EHS and facility strategy.
  • Align safety processes with our business strategy, rooted in our company values.
  • Measure and track safety performance while staying abreast of safety regulations and company standards.
  • Enhance safety risk management and compliance assurance practices and systems efficiently.
  • Implement processes to foster innovation and continual safety improvements across the facility.
  • Establish necessary skills and knowledge for safety success, facilitating knowledge sharing and effective training programs.
  • Ensure safety policies and processes exceed regulatory and company expectations.
  • Set clear safety expectations, fostering staff development and creating an environment conducive to learning and growth.
  • Promote employee engagement, open communication, and continuous learning through incident sharing and a mature Human Performance Risk program.
  • Develop effective communication channels to relay safety messages to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Represent the facility on Corporate Safety Council and participate in external committees advocating for safety matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience, preferably in the chemical industry, with knowledge of safety and health regulations.
  • Recognized safety or health certification (CSP, CRSP, CIH, ROH, CMIOSH, or equivalent preferred).
  • People management experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, change management skills, analytical abilities, and diplomacy with regulatory authorities.
