Junior IT Support Specialist - Industrial Construction Project

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Support Specialist to join a major greenfield industrial construction project in Lillo, one of Europe's most significant new-build ventures in the energy and chemicals sector. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced site environment, supporting both the construction phase and operational readiness activities.

The position will combine hands-on IT/Telecom installation and support with coordination responsibilities on site. It is an excellent role for a junior IT professional eager to develop technical and project-facing skills in a high-profile, large-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line service desk support to end-users, resolving IT issues promptly and effectively.
  • Deliver IT/Telecom support during construction and operations readiness phases, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality.
  • Work directly at the construction job site, coordinating contractors and ensuring compliance with IT and telecom requirements.
  • Install, configure, and inspect IT/Telecom equipment and new technologies, ensuring they meet project and operational standards.
  • Manage and maintain end-user devices (laptops, mobile phones, peripherals) for project personnel.
  • Take ownership of issues, applying strong problem-solving skills and escalating when necessary.
  • Liaise with regional IT teams across the wider organization to align solutions and support.
  • Monitor IT systems and services proactively, ensuring reliability and performance.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Previous exposure to IT service desk roles (1st or 2nd line support) is preferred; internships or junior-level experience in industrial or construction settings will also be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of IT and telecom systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and equipment management.
  • Personal Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, proactive attitude, and willingness to take ownership of issues.
  • Communication: Clear communicator, able to coordinate with contractors, site teams, and regional IT colleagues.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Dutch is a significant advantage.
  • Mindset: Flexible, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
