Role Overview

We are seeking a Materials Buyer to support a turnaround (TAR) project at a major petrochemical site in Lillo. The role focuses on sourcing and securing equipment, materials, and bulk items required for the successful execution of the turnaround.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for equipment, materials, and bulk goods.
• Work closely with TAR and site teams to ensure timely delivery of all required items.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with established Belgian suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, availability, and delivery schedules to meet turnaround demands.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and site safety standards.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 5-10 years in the (petro)chemical sector, with prior turnaround (TAR) experience.
• Procurement Focus: Expertise in equipment, materials, and bulks procurement (not services or project buying).
• Supplier Network: Solid knowledge of and relationships with major Belgian suppliers.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch.
• Certification: Valid VCA-VOL certificate required.
• Eligibility: Must already have the right to work in Belgium and be available to start quickly.
