Our client is a global leader in the heavy industrial manufacturing sector, operating multiple large-scale production facilities across North America. They are delivering a significant portfolio of multi-million-dollar capital investment projects aimed at modernising existing operations, improving production capability, and supporting long-term operational growth.

These projects range from front-end engineering through to full construction execution within complex live industrial environments.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major capital projects at a large industrial manufacturing facility in Massena, New York.

Working as part of the owner's project team, you will be responsible for managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external engineering partners while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

This is a client-side role overseeing Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), contractors and stakeholders rather than carrying out detailed engineering design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead major capital projects from Front-End Loading (FEL) through construction and commissioning.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule and overall delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, procurement and construction activities.
• Manage external Engineering Service Providers and specialist contractors.
• Ensure compliance with project governance, safety and quality standards.
• Drive stakeholder communication across internal and external project teams.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Support project reporting, forecasting and executive updates.

Requirements

• 10+ years' Project Management experience delivering industrial capital projects.
• Strong understanding of Front-End Loading (FEL) project delivery methodology.
• Proven experience managing EPC or Engineering Service Providers.
• Background within heavy industrial sectors such as:
• Metals
• Furnaces
• Aluminium
• Steel
• Mining
• Petrochemical
• Large manufacturing facilities
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Desirable

• Experience within aluminium smelting, steel mills, furnaces or similar process industries.
• PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
