About the Company

Our client is an internationally recognised industrial manufacturer undertaking a substantial programme of capital investment across multiple Canadian production facilities.

These projects involve major upgrades to heavy industrial infrastructure, requiring experienced project leaders capable of managing complex engineering and construction programmes in operational manufacturing environments.

The Opportunity

An experienced Project Manager is required to lead the delivery of significant capital investment projects within one of Canada's largest industrial manufacturing sites.

Working on behalf of the asset owner, you will oversee external engineering providers, construction contractors and project stakeholders while ensuring successful project delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver capital projects from FEL through execution and handover.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and commercial performance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Coordinate Engineering Service Providers and construction contractors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with governance procedures.
  • Manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing large industrial capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of Front-End Loading (FEL) methodology.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects within heavy industry.
  • Experience managing EPC or Engineering Service Providers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience within:
    • Aluminium
    • Smelting
    • Steel
    • Furnace operations
    • Heavy process manufacturing
  • French language skills.
