Project Planner / Scheduler

Location: Boden, Sweden (site-based)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to join a major industrial construction project in Boden, Sweden. This long-term contract role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced site environment and has proven experience supporting complex, large-scale industrial developments.

The project involves the design and construction of cutting-edge facilities within the clean energy and advanced materials sector - combining large-scale process engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that project timelines, milestones, and deliverables are accurately planned, monitored, and achieved across multiple disciplines and stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, ensuring alignment with key milestones and project objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams, providing accurate planning input and progress updates.
  • Work collaboratively with area managers, project engineers, and contractors to monitor progress, anticipate challenges, and identify mitigation strategies.
  • Lead forecasting and reporting activities, preparing detailed schedule analyses, progress reports, and performance summaries for senior management.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring that scope variations and project impacts are properly captured and reflected in planning documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between site execution teams and corporate project controls, maintaining a consistent and transparent view of schedule performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project planning systems and methodologies, ensuring compliance with best practice standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5-10 years' experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects (energy, chemicals, or manufacturing).
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and a solid understanding of project planning best practices.
  • Strong capability in project controls, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
  • Proven experience managing complex schedules across multidisciplinary teams and multiple contractors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-driven, with a commitment to achieving high standards of delivery and safety.
  • Previous experience working on mega projects (>$500M CAPEX) is highly advantageous.
