Location: Houston, TX (site-based, 5 days per week)
Contract: 12 months (renewable, with potential for multi-year contract)

Overview:


We are supporting a major turnaround in Houston, TX and are seeking an experienced TAR Procurement Supervisor / Specialist to join the site team. This role will report directly into senior turnaround leadership and play a critical part in ensuring the timely procurement and coordination of materials, services, and contractors for a large-scale TAR event.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities for turnaround projects, ensuring all materials, equipment, and services are secured on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with TAR management, project managers, and contractors to align procurement strategy with turnaround execution.
  • Supervise and coordinate vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Oversee SAP-driven procurement workflows, purchase requisitions, and invoicing.
  • Track, report, and resolve procurement-related issues throughout the TAR lifecycle.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • Drive continuous improvement in TAR procurement processes and vendor management.

Candidate Profile:

  • 10+ years' experience in procurement, materials management, or project support within refining, petrochemicals, or heavy industry.
  • Proven turnaround (TAR) experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficient in SAP and familiar with procurement and materials workflows.
  • Strong project management skills - able to coordinate across multiple teams and functions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; able to manage contractors and stakeholders effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and resilient in high-pressure turnaround environments.
