Location: Houston, Texas (Regular travel to project sites as required)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary

An experienced Vice President, Projects is sought to lead the development and execution of a growing portfolio of large-scale energy, industrial and infrastructure projects, including energy transition initiatives, renewable energy developments and associated facilities.

This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing all project delivery activities from development, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Final Investment Decision (FID) through execution, commissioning and operational readiness. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping project strategy, building project delivery teams, managing EPC relationships and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with business objectives.

As the organisation continues to grow, this individual will be instrumental in establishing project delivery frameworks, recruiting key leadership personnel and creating a scalable platform capable of supporting future project expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Provide executive oversight of all project development and execution activities across the project portfolio.
  • Lead projects through FEED, FID, EPC execution, commissioning and startup phases.
  • Develop and implement project delivery strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within approved budgets.
  • Establish governance processes, reporting structures and project controls frameworks.
  • Drive risk management, value engineering and execution planning activities.

EPC & Contractor Management

  • Serve as the senior interface between the organisation and EPC contractors.
  • Lead contractor selection, contract negotiations and performance management.
  • Challenge and validate engineering, procurement and construction strategies.
  • Ensure EPC partners deliver against agreed project objectives and milestones.
  • Resolve critical project issues and manage escalation processes where required.

Organisational Development

  • Build and develop the project organisation as projects progress toward execution.
  • Recruit and mentor key project leadership personnel, including engineering, project management and project controls teams.
  • Establish a high-performance project culture focused on safety, accountability and execution excellence.
  • Develop succession planning and long-term organisational capability.

Commercial & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with executive leadership, investors, lenders and project stakeholders.
  • Support financing activities, investment approvals and board presentations.
  • Provide regular updates on project performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Represent the organisation with regulators, partners, contractors and industry stakeholders.

Strategic Growth

  • Support the evaluation and development of future energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to corporate growth strategy and capital project planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery efficiency and organisational capability.
  • Help establish repeatable project execution models that can be replicated across future developments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience within energy, petrochemical, refining, LNG, ammonia, hydrogen or major industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale capital projects through FEED, FID and execution.
  • Extensive experience managing EPC contractors and owner-side project teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within owner/operator organisations.
  • Strong commercial, financial and stakeholder management capability.
  • Experience managing project portfolios with capital values exceeding $500 million.

Preferred Experience

  • Ammonia, hydrogen or energy transition project experience.
  • Gulf Coast project delivery experience.
  • Experience within both project development and execution environments.
  • Previous responsibility for project organisations during periods of rapid growth.
  • Exposure to project finance, investment approvals and lender engagement.
  • Experience building project teams from early-stage development through operations.
